Credit/Debit Card Restrictions

Ethiopian Airlines accepts credit and debit cards branded as Visa, MasterCard, American Express, Diners Club, China Union Pay, JCB, and UATP. In addition, Ethiopian Airlines accepts local debit cards and mobile payments from some African countries. Elo and Hiper cards are also accepted from Brazil. 

ET does not accept Anonymous Prepaid cards.

Please be advised that third-party payment with a credit/debit card through the Internet is possible for individuals other than the cardholder. However, for security reasons, the cardholder may be contacted by email to verify the credit card used at the airport or a nearby Ethiopian ticket office for in-person verification.

In countries where Ethiopian does not have a ticket office or general sales agent for card verification, cardholders can authorize third-party payment by filling out the credit card authorization form.
